Census: BE COUNTED IN THE 2020 CENSUS!

11/11/2019

"Every 10 years, people across the country and in California fill out the Census in order to have an accurate count of all people in the United States. The Census determines California’s federal funding for important community services that help support our families and fair share of representation in California and Washington D.C.

The next Census is in Spring 2020. Let’s ensure all Californians are counted so we can put those resources to good use here at home!"

To provide additional locally controlled school funding, the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education voted to place Measure EE, a 16 cent per square foot local school funding parcel tax, on the ballot in a special election on June 4, 2019.

If approved by two-thirds of voters, Measure EE would provide local school funding to help improve instructional environments by reducing class sizes, attracting and retaining high-quality teachers and school employees, and providing quality instructional programs, resources, and materials.

Civic Engagement means making a difference in your community, becoming knowledgeable and learning skills to enhance your community. Volunteering and service learning are forms of civic engagement to help improve the community. As a member of our community, we must want to make positive contributions and collaborate with others to create changes.
