retreat
January 21, 2023
We started off our retreat with some delicious bagels donated by Western Bagels, and got to enjoy other yummy breakfast items. During the retreat, we played games to get to know each other and to strengthen our team.
We brainstormed ideas on the types of events we wanted to host at school. Since our focus is on Sustainability, we shared ideas on upcycling. We also planned other types of events we would want to do for volunteering in the community and for our team to learn new leadership skills.
We decided to focus on our Thrift Shop for the spring semester. After the Thrift Shop, we planned to host our Sustainability Fair where we would have different stations to educate students and to have fun activities.
Thrift Shops (held in the Fall and Spring): About 500 students participated in our thrift shops and were able to receive clothing, shoes, and other items for free!
