Nowadays, a large portion of teenagers struggle to deal with stressful situations that for many, challenges everyday activities. Luckily, after many studies and articles, we’ve found a few ways to facilitate these difficulties. It is important to understand that you are never alone and always have someone waiting to hear from you. ALL feelings are valid and should not be undermined. Many people don’t think it’s okay to not be okay, but in all truthfulness, it is. And it’s more common than you think. The purpose of this article is to better inform our beloved readers on ways to take a breather in a test setting. Given our circumstances, many of us have begun suffering from anxiety (or for those who already had it, has intensified), which has worsened our ability to complete tasks. The following is a list of tools you may use when experiencing trouble:

- Reach out to administration: whether it’s teachers or your principal (whoever you’re most comfortable with), alert them about your ongoing situation!
- Essential Oils and/or Lotion: it has been proven that aromatherapy can lessen your altered emotions.
- Grounding Method: focus on five things you can see and touch!
- Scratch Paper: if in a quiet setting, have something you can write, doodle, or draw on to release overwhelming emotions
- Don’t Rush: it is always important to take your time! Even if someone seems to be ahead or finishes and turns in their work, don’t allow this to pressure you!
- Manipulation: if possible, bring some kind of fidget your hands can be playing around with to avoid tensity while taking your exam.
- Drinks: As previously mentioned, aromatherapy can work for many, for those who don’t, kava tea is known to be a calming natural remedy that can be taken in a thermos!
